01000	Here is a summary of the proposed talk. Feel free to edit.
01100
01200	I will need a 16 mm. sound movie projector, which I can bring if
01300	there isn't one there already. If there is a telephone handy,
01400	I could bring a computer terminal and illustrate some current
01500	capabilities with live demonstrations. I am also tempted to bring
01600	some stereo or quadraphonic sound equipment to play computer
01700	music, although my equipment is rather bulky and this may be too
01800	much territory to cover.

00700
00800	Mr. Earnest, a graduate of Caltech and MIT, was formerly Head of
00900	the Information Systems Department of the MITRE Corporation and
01000	is now a Lecturer and Research Computer Scientist at Stanford
01100	University and Executive Officer of the Stanford Artificial
01200	Intelligence Project. He will discuss some current themes in
01300	artificial intelligence and speculate on future developments.
01400
01500	Current research in computer vision and manipulation (a short
01600	film on this), machine translation (specifically English to
01700	French), and psychriatric applications will be discussed as well
01800	as computer music and art and the home computer terminal. Future
01900	possibilities, good and bad, will be explored.
